Biography

Dr. Xiao Haitao received his Master’s Degree from Peking University Health Science Center in 2008. From 2011 to 2012, he studied under Professor Jin-Cheon Kim, one of the most famous Korean colorectal surgeons, at the Asan Hospital in Seoul as a visiting scholar and completed systematic anorectal surgery training. In 2016, Dr.Xiao attended the da Vinci robotic surgery training at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Hong Kong and acquired relevant qualifications.

Dr. Xiao has 20 years of surgical clinical experience. Before joining Beijing United Family Hospital, he worked in the Anorectal Surgery Department of Beijing Erlonglu Hospital (an specialized anorectal hospital). Dr. Xiao specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of hemorrhoids, anal fistulas, perianal abscesses, anal fissures, rectal polyps, colorectal tumors, and other diseases. He also took the lead in proposing a variety of treatment options in the field of hemorrhoid treatment, whether it is outpatient painless internal hemorrhoid ligation, minimally invasive PPH surgery under sedation and anesthesia, or traditional hemorriodectomy. The same-day minimally invasive hemorrhoid treatment plan is routinely used in the Surgery Department of Beijing United Family Hospital and is widely praised by patients. In addition, he also has rich experience in treating various common surgical diseases, such as cholecystitis, appendicitis, skin and subcutaneous mass, soft tissue infection, paronychia, and other conditions, especially the excision of body surface tumors and cosmetic sutures.

Dr. Xiao is a member of the Youth Committee of the Beijing Anorectal Society and the Gastrointestinal Surgery Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Health Medical Association. He has published multiple articles in various academic journals, including 1 SCI paper in the American Journal of Clinical Pathology, and participated in the compilation of 2 anorectal books.
