Biography

Dr. Li Lan obtained her PhD in Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery from Jilin University in 1997. In 2007, she underwent training at Harvard University Boston Children’s Hospital and House Ear Research Institute in the United States. Formerly served as the chief physician, professor, and department head of the Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery at Shenzhen Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Li Lan has been deeply involved in the Department of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery at a tertiary hospital for over 30 years, and has a high level of expertise in treating pediatric and adult otolaryngological diseases. Dr. Li Lan is particularly skilled in the diagnosis and treatment of common and frequently occurring diseases in pediatric otolaryngology head and neck surgery, such as pediatric OSAS including tonsillar adenoid hypertrophy, allergic rhinitis, sinusitis, pediatric nosebleeds, otitis media, and hearing related diseases. She was the first to carry out cochlear implant surgery in a children’s hospital in China, and the first to carry out laryngeal microsurgery such as laryngeal softening surgery and laryngeal fissure repair surgery in China. She has unique insights and rich experience in the diagnosis, treatment, and research of pediatric pharyngeal reflux.

In terms of scientific research, Dr. Li Lan has participated in multiple scientific and technological projects funded by the Provincial Science Committee and the Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, and has won the first and third prizes of the Provincial Science Progress Award. Published over 50 papers in national professional academic journals and participated in the compilation of six books, including “Practical Pediatric Otolaryngology”. Formerly served as the deputy leader of the Pediatrics Group in the Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery of the Chinese Medical Association, deputy leader of the Pediatrics Group in the Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery of the Chinese Medical Association, deputy chairman of the Pediatrics Group in the Chinese Sleep Society, deputy leader of the Pediatrics Group in the Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery of Guangdong Province, deputy chairman of the Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery of Shenzhen City, and editorial board member of core journals such as the Chinese Journal of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery.
