• Doctor Xiong is proficient in the endoscopic minimally invasive treatment of difficult digestive diseases and diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, liver, gallbladder, pancreas. He mainly focuses on the minimally invasive interventional diagnosis and treatment technology using digestive endoscopes. For example, endoscopic hemostasis for gastrointestinal bleeding, ligation of esophageal and gastric varices as well as injection of sclerosing agents and tissue adhesives, resection of gastrointestinal polyps, endoscopic diagnosis and curative resection (EMR, ESD) of early gastrointestinal cancer, endoscopic resection (ESE, EFR) of submucosal tumors, injection of sclerosing agents and ligation treatment for internal hemorrhoids, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) and related endoscopic surgeries, and endoscopic minimally invasive treatment of biliary and pancreatic diseases, including the removal of stones in the biliary and pancreatic ducts, lithotripsy, stent implantation, and nasobiliary drainage.

Working Experience

• Doctor Xiong has been engaged in the clinical work of the Department of Gastroenterology and endoscopic diagnosis and treatment for more than 30 years, and he has rich clinical experience and the ability to handle acute and critically ill patients.
• He has successively served as the Deputy Director of the Department of Gastroenterology of Shenzhen Second People’s Hospital, the Director of the Teaching and Research Section of the Department of Gastroenterology, as well as the Director of the Department of Gastroenterology and the discipline leader of Shenzhen Longhua District Central Hospital.

Academic Achievement 

• Presided over and completed a total of 6 research projects from the Guangdong Provincial Department of Science and Technology, the Guangdong Provincial Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and the Shenzhen Science and Technology Innovation Commission.
• Published 4 SCI papers as the first author and corresponding author, 1 paper in the Chinese Journal of Digestion, and 1 paper in the Chinese Journal of Internal Medicine.
• Served as the chief editor of one monograph and participated in compiling another monograph.
• Won one Second Prize of Scientific and Technological Progress in Traditional Chinese Medicine of Guangdong Province and one Third Prize of Shenzhen Scientific and Technological Progress Award respectively.
