Biography

Dr. Zuo graduated from Nanjing Medical College in 1987. He has served as the director of standardized training and teaching for general surgery and gastrointestinal surgery residents at a Grade-A tertiary hospital as well as a hospital teaching supervisor. In recent years, Dr. Zuo has focused on gastrointestinal surgery, learning from Professor Qin Xinyu, the current chairman of the Chinese Society of Gastrointestinal Surgery, on gastrointestinal motility and gastrointestinal disease surgery. He has also received further training on the management of abdominal severe infections and intestinal fistulas at the Nanjing General Hospital of Nanjing Military Region and the Department of General Surgery at Nanjing Medical College.

With nearly 40 years of experience in general surgery, Dr. Zuo has successfully performed thousands of surgeries without incident. He is skilled in the diagnosis and treatment of abdominal trauma and tumors, adept at managing complex and challenging cases in general surgery, and proficient in performing routine general surgery procedures. He excels in using minimally invasive laparoscopic techniques for gastrointestinal, liver, gallbladder, and hernia surgeries, earning high praise from patients for his proactive communication and meticulous approach.

Dr. Zuo serves as a member of the Perioperative Committee of the Chinese Medical Association Colorectal Society, as well as a member of the Surgical and Pediatric Surgery branches of the Huai’an Medical Association. He has published two national-level papers, over ten provincial-level papers, and authored one book. Dr. Zuo has received several awards for technological advancements and has led teams as a Chinese medical expert on missions in Guyana, South America.
