Biography

Dr. Sun graduated from the Department of Clinical Medicine of West China Medical University in 1992. She has practiced at the Neonatal Department of Yale University New Haven Children Hospital, and the NICU of The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada, as part of a medical exchange experience program.

From 2002, she served as one of the principals of the Department of Pediatrics and Neonatology, which houses the Neonatology Department of Guangdong Provincial People’s Hospital as well as a provincial-level neonatal critical care center that is committed to the highest national NICU standards.

Before joining Shenzhen New Frontier United Family Hospital, Dr. Sun worked in Guangdong Provincial People’s Hospital as the director of the Department of Neonatology and subsequently, the deputy director of the Department of Pediatrics. She is excellent at the diagnosis and treatment of neonatal diseases, respiratory, digestive and allergic diseases in children. She has rich experience in child nutrition, growth and development assessment of critically sick children and post-discharge management.

She also has rich experience in the diagnosis and treatment of dynamic diseases, and in the treatment of critically ill neonates and the perioperative management of the neonatal period of critically ill congenital heart diseases. She has extensive skills treating patients who have difficult, rare and critical illnesses, and presides over and completes several major difficult rescues and consultations every year. She is also a training instructor for neonatal bronchoscopy, and is proficient in examination and various hemodynamic monitoring techniques.

Dr. Sun has nearly 30 years of extensive clinical practice experience. In addition to her focus on the diagnosis and treatment of pediatric diseases, Dr. Sun also teaches undergraduates and serves as a clinical instructor for interns and physicians. As the Associate Professor of Guangzhou Medical University, South China University of Technology and Southern Medical University, she has trained many batches of excellent clinicians. She also participated in a number of provincial and national scientific research projects, and published more than 20 papers, including nine SCIs.

Dr. Sun is the deputy director of the General Department of the Neonatal Professional Committee of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association, and a member of the Pediatric Professional Committee of the Chinese Medical Education Association. She is also on the committee of the Pediatrics Committee of the Guangdong Women’s Physician Association and of the Neonatal Branch of the Guangdong Medical Association.
